• Store jewelry separately so it does not scratch other jewelries.

• When doing household tasks such as gardening and cleaning, be certain to re move rings.

• Put your jewelry on after washing and applying any makeup/hair spray.

• Take off jewelry before swimming in a swimming pool. The chlorine can cause damage to various

gemstones and gold. Gemstones may become loose in their settings (and possibly fall out).

• Before doing high impact sports take off your jewelry as you may scratch the metal or chip the gemstones.

• Avoid storing your jewelry next to a heating vent, window sill or on a car dashboard.

• Store jewelry away from sunlight as the sun may fade the gemstones.

• Always store bead necklaces (such as lapis, pearls, etc) flat as silk stretches over time.

For Sterling Silver, here is what you have to do. To minimize scratches, store your sterling silver jewelry in a cloth pouch (preferably cotton or velvet). Try to avoid wearing your jewelry when coming into contact with household detergents or chemicals, such as bleach, ammonia, or other abrasive cleaners. Remove your jewelry when using fingernail polish remover containing acetone. Also, please note that chlorinated or salt water can damage your product. Remove your jewelry before swimming. Sterling silver jewelry can naturally tarnish over a period of time from chemicals in the air. Clean your jewelry with a low or non abrasive phosphate free detergent. When light tarnish appears, use a polishing cloth or any silver cleaner. You may use ultrasonic cleaners only if the piece does not have turquoise, or other gemstone adornments.

Pearls are a soft gem and should be handles with care. Store them in a soft, breathable cloth inside a jewelry box. Keep them away from other jewelry, ammonia, inks, oils and even perfume and hairs spray. Wear pearls at least once a month because body humidity does them good. However wipe them off with a soft cloth to remove body oils, make-up and smoke film. Clean your pearls at least once a year.

Exposing the jewelries to any of the harmful chemicals and elements can distort, change, or damage it. So keep it safe and protected by keeping it in a jewelry box that can provide care.
